"Daydreaming" by Natalie Cole Has anybody heard this single yet? Don't know about you, but this song annoys the hell out of me. Every time I hear it come on the radio, I find myself saying, "Oh God!" and turning my radio off. This song gives me a headache, the melody is so awful. I get the feeling that this annoying song will become wildly popular and will burn up the singles charts. It seems like all annoying songs like this one are the ones that people go nuts over for some ungodly reason. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Natalie Cole is one of my favorite singers, i especially love the music she made in the 70s, and i like this song too
I said in an earlier thread that i didn`t like Aretha`s original, but after Natalie covered it, i started to listen to the original, and it`s actually VERY good. Have you heard the original? http://www.youtube.com/wa...qg6ujcHQis

I like it. Got tickets to see her in a couple of weeks too. Now if I can just get Kelis tickets maybe this year will start to look up in terms of concerts. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I can't imagine Natalie Cole having another big hit single. She doesn't have the kind of ability to appeal to youngster like a Cher. Singles are for young people and albums are were older listeners make an impact. So I do think the album could be a hit, though. Everytime you hear it on the radio?....where are you hearing it? Sirius, by any chance?

It's a remake of a 1972 Aretha Franklin hit.I like Natalie's version and I can't wait for her new album 'Leavin',due September 26.

Cool, enjoy the concert. Thanks. I hope it'll be good. There was a thread about this song just a few weeks ago. I commented that I had been hearing it ALOT on (regular) radio and at the time had no idea she had a new album coming out. I don't see why she can't have another AC hit. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Not to diss Dallas Austin (I know he's worked with TONS of musicians, including TLC), but I like Aretha's version of the song much better. The beginning of the song of Natalie's version just gets under my skin, big time. It falls under the category of, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Btw way does anyone know how old Natalie Cole is? Stephanie Natalie Maria Coles (born February 6, 1950), known professionally as Natalie Cole is a Grammy Award-winning American singer and songwriter. Just looked it up on Yahoo. That means Natalie is 56 years old, but she doesn't look it. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Can that woman stay out of Aretha's clit for 2 seconds? She's either kissing her ass in interviews or remaking her songs on stage.
I love Natalie, she's cool people but I hate her riding that "Aretha bandwagon", shit won't get you nowhere,,,and top of it all, you won't nead Aretha beefing with your ass, thats too much headache to cop with. [Edited 9/9/06 8:34am]

[Edited 9/9/06 8:34am] Actually, for a long time Aretha openly hated on Natalie. It was manily due to the fact that in 1975 Natalie Cole won the thus far exclusively Aretha Franklin's Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female. What made things even worse was that Cole's smash hit, 'This Will Be', was an evident replica of Aretha's early 1970's style. Cole almost cried when she accepetd the award because her long-time idol, Aretha, had a word with her just before the gala started, accusing the young songbird of coping the style and spreading rumors about the one and only Queen of Soul Aren't cat fight the best? I think they are OK right now. [Edited 9/9/06 17:17pm] I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

I think they are OK right now. Oh no? Pick oup Aretha's autobiography, see what kind of mess she done spit on the air(Wildin' out on EVERY 2-legged vagina having creature under the sun. Shit, she even had the audacity to talk junk about her sisters,,,even the one who was in her sick bed - 4got who it was). You gotta love Aunt ReRe tho - BUT from a distance, coz the greasy heffa is allergic to women. Aries women are the WILDEST, boy. Chaka, Aretha, Diana, Billie, Sarah, Bessie and even Mariah - ALL got fire wether in a subtle way(like Mariah) OR a flamboyant way(like the rest of 'em). Can't hate on arian woman coz thats MY mother

Interestingly,in the mid-70s,Aretha began performing Natalie's song "This Will Be" at her concerts. But she foolishly turned down "I've Got Love On My Mind" when it was offered to her first
