Aw shit Beyonce is Creole now! Yes i'm stirring up shit. So what i'm bored and feel like it. I'm not a Beyonce hater. I actually like her and Destiniy's Child but I heard a song has leaked called "creole" that she recorded. Does this mean she is no longer black?
When is this chicks time up? I do like her as i've said before but she is over exposed in my opinion. She's been on top for about 6 years already. When will the madness stop?

I can’t get past the lyrics and again she sounds like she’s a little loud.

Yea, her mother is Creole...she's talked about her ancestry from the beginning. I think the madness will stop once the general public decides they are tired of her, not internet opinion. Her song "Deja Vu" is doing very well across the world. Minus Fox News, her album has been getting wonderful reviews too. [Edited 8/30/06 17:11pm] love is a fate resigned memories mar my mind love it is a fate resigned Over futile odds and laughed at by the Gods and now the final frame Love is a losing game

i think it is easy for Artist like beyonce to achieve the number 1 spot....
she is famous world wide, most people know her name, and she is every where... i also think the success of a song depends on the popularity of an artist...

Us black folks have been so dogged out, denigrated, beat on, oppressed, (insert any adjective you see fit) throughout the course of our history in this country, that in order to make ourselves feel better or special and forget our original ancestry, which America takes great delight in making us feel ashamed of, love to associate ourselves with other cultures. By the way, I'm mixed with Cherokee and Irish. Whoop dee damn doo.
Me, Beyonce and most Black Americans, are just that - black. She needs to stop trippin'. I guess this issue still gets me heated.

True dat! -- All of us are mixed - truthfully - we could never trace our true ancestry do to family seperation and slave rapes so I agree with you on - However, if it's easier for her to trace her roots and she wants to honor her ancestry I say big-ups to her -- I have Cherokee and African artifacts and figurines all over my house -- that's my heritage and I will honor it - we all should -- not on no "pretending to be" shit but simply because it's who we are.

I agree with you, on some aspects. However, I think, for the most part, when Black people bring up elements of their ancestry that isn't African, they do so in order to feel "special" or "better" about themselves - as if being exclusively descended from Africa isn't enough to feel those things. I don't think God designed humankind in such a fashion; being mixed doesn't make one instrinsically better than someone who isn't. He doesn't put more stock into mixed people than he does those who aren't. All of us on this earth are beautiful. Some of us have been systematically and deliberately programmed to think otherwise.
I dunno, I take Beyonce hyping her mom's Creole roots as her saying "Look at me! I'm pretty! I'm mixed! I'm not 100% African! I'm set apart from Black people! My momma's got good hair!" GTFO with that BS.

i heard the song... it sounds terrible and the lyrics are bad... i cant believe she was tyring to brag about being mixed with white... and that creols are better... beyonce is fair complexion... but she has a black nose... and high cheek bones... she looks like a regular black girl... that is light complexion

Whenever black folks do that nonsense around me, I'm out the door - I don't want to hear it. Because of my skin color, people ask me do I have Native American or white blood. I do, but I just tell them I'm black. It's my culture - it's how I think and how I feel. Black parents need to do a better job of instilling black pride in their kids. There's NO EXCUSE for this type of thinking today. It's pathetic so many don't know what time it is. In the words of Lawrence Fishburne, "WAAAAAKE UUUUUP!!!!"

I actually thought B was repping for New Orleans and what not. So i think if she can help out and keep some media attention on what's going on in the Gulf Coast. Then let her be creole, she already sold out a long time ago in my opinion (see blonde wig)
