talk to the hand
read it again, we all do foolish stuff when young.....that's the fuck that was wrong with me! Don't point your fucking finger at me for something I did friggin' 15 years ago.....I just couldn't stand him, his cult of personality.....and that has nothing to do with Prince! Thanks for pointing out that I'm on a Prince-site, n00b!

Well you had to expect someone would take offense to your post though you know. hmmm

bullshit, in my initial post I admit it was tasteless.....somehow here I can not say that I didn't like a guy who apperently is well liked by everyone else, and that's stupid!

hmph!

I didn't say you couldn't say it. Just that there was bound to be some backlash about it. It could be about anybody. Just insert someone's favorite dead artist here ---> _____ in with a story like yours, and someone will end up mad about it. shrug

I just can't believe you even admitted to something like that. lol

Yep. hug I think it's really important to be able to see the artists you love live. It makes for one of the best experiences in your life IMO. And especially in cases where a band member died and the band broke up. In my case, John Bonham died and they broke up, but the main reason was that I was way too young to have seen them live anyway. So when I got to see Robert Plant last summer, I was just ecstatic.

I can imagine that it must be really hard seeing Queen without Freddie though. Did you feel sad about it? Because it felt this wave of sadness coming over me at the Robert Plant show. Half of his setlist was Zeppelin songs, and while it was a great show, and some of the songs were arranged in a totally different way, I couldn't help but miss the rest of the band members. sad It made me REALLY wish I could have seen them when they were still together. (not that I don't always wish that anyway lol )

aww hug I SO feel you on that one! definately nod ok... I've seen Brian perform on a solo tour back in Australia 8 years ago. that was an amazing night and was a highlight of my life so far especially as I got to get his autograph afterwards... during the show though he played some Queen (which everyone was kinda expecting) it was fantastic but I know it would never be the same as hearing them all together again sad Tuesday night, however, was the closest thing I'll ever get to it - to have both Brian and Roger up there playing "Love Of My Life" especially was, as I said, more than I could put into words. In a weird way it FELT like Freddie was with us anyway... somehow. everyone was crying, laughing, screaming just there for Freddie mushy he was there nod

I was sitting next to a young guy who was on his own also, and we were chatting before the show and everything... at the end of it all after everyone sang Happy Birthday for Freddie he asked me what I thought and I said to him it doesn't get any better than that. it just doesn't. a night like that is one in a million if you're lucky

nod I know. Well, the first 3 all DID play in the Yardbirds at one time or another. Just never all 3 at the same time. And Clapton, Page, and Beck also played together briefly in the 80s for a benefit concert. But never all four though.

You're welcome. biggrin There are actually only maybe two instances where Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page were filmed with the Yardbirds playing onstage together. I wish there was more footage of that. sigh They were only both in the band at the same time for a really short time.
