OMG - I Love Burning CDs!! Downloading 80's songs off the internet, then burning it onto CDs. I could do this stuff all day, I love it so much. Nothing like a brand new CD of jams to listen to. Does anybody else enjoy doing this as much as I do? It's addictive, I tell ya. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I like to burn CDs some of the time too! I make my different mixes on my Napster program and it is just unreal how many great songs I have on my burned CDs. I burned Me'Shell Ndege'Ocello's Comfort Woman yesterday and I haven't even listened to it yet. But burning Cds is cool! Check me out and add me on:

I hear ya! I hate it when I download a song and it skips or cuts off. Then I have to start over again. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

To each their own. I don't even own an Ipod (which I feel funny admitting, but it's true). RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I guess I'm going to buy an Ipod sometime this year too and try to download the music of most of my CDs on there. What's so good about it anyway? Check me out and add me on:

I don't know. You can fit 100s of songs (or videos, now) on a small piece of equipment and take them anywhere. Depending on the model, you can can create different tracklists, too. Again, it's hard to commit (you'll think "Why don't I have anything from this artists.." or "Why so much from this artist"...."Why this mix"..."I hate this song"). I got do some changing to my Ipod. I would recommend not getting an Ipod shuffle. Get the good one! [Edited 9/3/06 19:18pm]

I don't think it's my connection (the computer I was on is amazing). I don't know about the video quality on Ipod. Also, about Ipod, you can only download stuff from Itunes unless you have it on CD (I think). The file has to be able ot convert to Itunes, and stuff from other services apparently doesn't transfer. I'm not an expert on this...Hopefully someone else here knows a lot more.

So, you can actually download your CD to the Ipod? Not directly but pretty close. You put it on Itunes (and it will take all Cds, I think) and then put it on your Ipod. You have to download. It doesn't cost anything to download it, it doesn't cost anything to use it for putting your Cds on there and using it for that (not to mention, possibly other MP3s...I'm not sure about that) but the songs are 99 cents a piece (even short interludes....that's kind of funny and careless), albums ususally $9.99 (sometimes that's a bargin if there are more than 10 tracks....some album have extra tracks not on the original). Also, the listing is pretty limited. Usually on stuff that in print (you might get lucky and find something out of print) and there are artists that are still holdouts and won't put there stuff on Itunes (Led Zepellen, which sucks.....Madonna was up until a few months before COADF.....that definately helped).

I've not been able to get it on ME either but have it on another computer. Her's a question ~ when you upload a new cd to iTunes, does that count as one of the copies (most cd's now only allow two copies)? I'm thinking it must because I'm getting those annoying skips on some tracks from cds I've made my two copies from, then tried to put on iTunes. Music is the language of the spirit. The majority of the new ones ~ from about early last year and a bit before. Look for the new piracy protection warning on the cd. When you copy more than twice, you will often find huge skips and distortion in the copy. Someone on the org said it could be bypassed by drawing a black circle around the coding in the center with a sharpie but who wants to ruin their cds like that? Music is the language of the spirit. and that sounds like an urban myth. Actually, it's true. On some "copy-controlled" faux CDs, you can circumvent the copy protection that way. Personally, I don't buy those discs. If I can't rip it to iTunes on my Mac, I don't want it. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

ohhhh u people r evil!
Personally i dont download music unless its unavailable in stores, or is just extremely hard 2 find. As i am a musician i know how hard it can be for artists to make a living in the music industry, and with all these P2P programs out there where u can download illegally free music, its getting very hard for some people to make it out there, especially with all the record companies these days who just wanna make shitloads of money and give the artist fuck all back. Sure there are legal P2P programs out there as well....but think about how much money if ny really goes to the artist! And then theres ur online stores like Itunes and all that crap. I know a lot of people out there who make music arnt really doing it for the money....unlike a lot of rappers, but still they would be doing it for a living and it is their job to make music. Would you like it if your boss said one day awww sorry i cant pay you this week cause some1 already downloaded your work and did it? I would be fuckin outragged! and i dont think a lot of people who download albums or wateva realise this. Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. But, the cost of cds is prohibitive for many of us ~ that is a relative statement as I own close to 3000 cds purchased at music/electronic stores. Most people I know who download music, either already own it and are trying to find the remixes, b~sides etc.or are listening to a song or two to decide whether they want to make the purchase. I've purchased some of my favourite albums as many as 9 times and never hesitate to support the artists I love through buying their music or concert tickets. Interestingly, I have a musician friend who sent me some files and asked me to put them on my shared files list to get them out there so people would hear him ~ give him exposure. I would never want to take anything away from an artist ~ I do know how difficult it is to make a living that way. IMO ~ it is the greedy record company who is the evil one! Best of luck to you with your music. Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran
