This CD got me through my first coporate job out of undergrad. I listened to Black on Both Sides and Common's Like Water for Chocolate daily in my cell, I mean cubicle.
Black on Both Sides is true hip hop. Mos Def's rhymes and flow are top shelf. The subject matter spans the gamut. I loved this CD so much that I saw him live at the HOB in Chicago. It was the first time that I had ever gone to a hip hop concert. He might have lost his mind with his second CD, but I still rock this one. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

I still rock this album and Common's "Like Water for Chocolate". Mos Def is definitely an underappreciated artist in the game. He's also underappreciated for his poetic and acting talents as well. The cat definitely is blessed... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
