KEITH SWEAT APPRECIATION THREAD His debut album, "Make It Last Forever," is a soul music classic. His follow-up albums "I'll Give All My Love to You" and "Keep It Comin'" also continued his strong track record, and "Get Up on It" and his eponymous album produced some of his biggest hits. THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. Keith Sweat is the man!!! If you want to talk about true R&B you can't forget Keith and beggin' self
My favorite, favorite is "There you go tellin' me no (again)" and he tore it up on "How deep is your love"...he was preachin' on that one!!! and "Something, something just ain't right".... [Edited 8/31/06 5:52am] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Keith Sweat had some great songs. He reminded me a lot of Steve Arrington with his vocal style, but he also incorporated a strong mix of beats to create some very strong jams and ballads. That's why it was appropriate that Keith Sweat did a remake of Slave's "Just a Touch of Love" on his self-titled album. When you look back at Sweat's career -- the bulk of his career is essentially in his first five albums -- he really had a strong set of songs. His first three albums in particular were between strong to spectacular. Keith Sweat is a Harlem-born soul singer/songwriter who dominated the genre from 1988 through 1996. His debut album, "Make It Last Forever," sold more than 3 million copies and his next four albums -- "I'll Give All My Love to You," "Keep It Comin,'" "Get Up On It" and his self-titled project -- were also million-sellers. Sweat is credited for being one of the first breakthrough acts of the New Jack Swing subgenre of soul music. Think of acts like Bobby Brown, Al B. Sure! and GUY, with Sweat having more staying power than those acts. I love me some Keith Sweat. Me and my friends at times poke jokes at him for whining a lot on some of his songs.

The King of Beggin Man's music ! That's Keith Sweat right there. Man I hate his whining on that song "Merry Go Round" He keeps crying "WHY U WANNA HURT ME BABY?" Over and over again.

I love Keith Sweat. The first CD is essential New Jack Swing. The next four were a little uneven, but there are a lot of great moments! His greatest hits CD was almost perfect, but some idiot decided not to include "Keep It Comin'," a #1 hit. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I remember hearing his debut single "I Want Her" and the FIRST thing I thought was "Yeah! Steve Arrington's back!" ~This brown experience made me the man that I was meant to be~

When someone mentions Keith Sweat's name, I always think of the scene in "New Jack City where he's singing "Merry Go Round".
I wonder whatever happened to "Silk" the group he produced? Their debut was good.
