Hey guys. The new Tupac album is dropping soon.. I just thought I'd let you know,one of the songs that might be on there is a song called "Pac's Life". The original unreleased version contains a sample of "Pop Life" and the hook is based on Pop Life as well.

However, Tupac's estate usually have the unreleased songs remixed, so I'm guessing they won't have cleared the sample with Prince and will have done a new version with a new beat, which is gonna be disappointing really since it won't be true to the original vibe. But we'll see what happens....I know they approached P about being on the album, but I don't know what the outcome was. I think he would have said no because of the JW thing...

Thanks for the info Militant! That's cool! Now Pop Life, If I Was Your Girlfriend,777-9311 and Darling Nikki have been sampled by Pac! Am I missing any others?

Yep the track Wussup With The Luv ft. Digital Underground sampled "Ballad Of Dorothy Parker" and the unreleased Thug Life track "Iz It Cool To Fuck" samples "Get It Up". I think theres a couple more too....

Unless 2pac has a clean version of the song, I doubt it Prince would approve of the sample (can't blame him really!). Maybe Prince could reconsider if this rap song is politic enough.
