i think janet's Damita Jo album was basically All for YOU part Two... you guys are right about janet not progressing as an artist... i have to agree... but what can she do... the music that is made today is made for young kids... back then... during 80's and 90's it was mostly grown ups who were making albums... and they made great albums... nowadays its like 15-23 year olds making crappy music...
anyways back to Janet... her new album doesnt excite me... I became a serious JJ fan during Velvet rope... and when she came out with All for YOU i went crazy over that album... i bought that album 3 times... but now it seems like janet has stayed the same... and she has many fans that are losing interest... I have always complained about her sexually explict songs and lyrics... I knew people didnt want to hear it... and thats probably one of the reasons that made her lose fans... |

The sex stuff was fine on "Janet", because it was refreshing. Before that she'd been the "Let's Wait Awhile" girl, then she turned into the "Nah - Let's Fuck" brazen hussy. Which I of course liked and respected her for too, you understand. The sex took a darker turn on Velvet Rope, and then she made her free and single divorcee's album, which was about falling in love again - and doing plenty of fucking too.
She should have stopped with the sex stuff there, ESPECIALLY after she got with the troll. NO ONE wants to hear about her fucking JD. I mean, can you imagine that gnome grinding away on top of you, let alone waking up next to him every morning? I reckon her last two albums were basically an extension of his male ego, the gnome boasting about his sack prowess with Janet as his mouthpiece. And "20 YO!" is a fucking AWFUL album title. But I don't bash her based on rumors, heresay, for being sexual, skanky, or having cheesy album/song titles (which I VERY WELL could--Daydream, Butterfly, Glitter???). That's the difference. I'm trying to understand why ppl have to agree with everything everyone does. If ppl aren't happy with her tracklist, so what. That's why we're here to have a discussion. If everyone always agreed, this would be one boring place.
I'd rather see ppl talking about her music than the continuous bashing of her six pack...

But see,the things that you bash Mariah for are strictly your OPINIONS.I'm sure that many of her fans would disagree with you,and that's okay.From what I can see,Janet is bashed here because she repeats herself over and over....doing the same breast-exposing magazine pose over and over....talking about her sex life in every interview....doing countless songs about her coochie and how much she enjoys sex....never really evolving as an artist or trying anything new....No doubt,you think that these criticisms are bullshit and that's fine,too.You just have to learn how to accept an opposing point of view and move on. | |
