No where. From what I'm told, it's VERY much alive and soaring. Burning melodic runs and glorious phrasing is a living and breathing thing. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I don't know where you've been hanging, but I've been on the road with Ben Harper and he has plenty of guitars. test

Add to that Eric Johnson, Indigenous, Eric Gales, Kenny Wayne Sheperd, Lance Lopez and a host of others. The way they make their money is mostly through touring. Even Jonny Lang's not selling like he used to - has to make the bucks touring. My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

It's starting to slowly come back. In the mid to late 90's and thru the 2001/02 "nu metal" era, guitar solos were out because the producers said it was too "old school". A lot of those cats couldn't play solos (or the guitar for that matter) so that had something to do with it too.

What exactly do you mean with "on the road with Ben Harper"? He's playing in Germany in November and my room mate and me think about going.

I suspect this thread is an attempt to bait all guitar-playing Orgers to cry out in alarm.
Very well. You've succeeded.
