You know when you are old when youngsters start hipping you to music hotter than Prince & Madonna together.

From what i've seen so far on YouTube didn't give me that impression at all .
I actually hear some similarities from 80's underground newwave sounds which i heard many times in alternative recordshops ( GET Records in Amsterdam being one of them )
Didn't spot any hip-funkstyle like Prince originated in his prime .
And i don't really get that age-thang . Miles Davis inspired new generations of musicians in his band , and vice versa they inspired him .

True, age ain't nothing but a number, but artists in the prime of their musicianship, like Prince from 81 to 88 always will have to battle against their own past. He even commented on it in the song Don't Play Me.

And I did not say The Knife was LIKE Prince or Madonna. I say they make better music to me than Prince or Madonna do. The Knife's music speaks to me louder than any other band except maybe Franz Ferdinand's first LP or Ellen Allien's joint with Apparat.

I am moving back to electronic music, lately and loving it...

We Share Our Mothers Health is like on non-stop repeat here.

It's like 83 Eurythmics x Björk X stuff I can't place yet.

I like stuff you can't place.

I have two downloaded albums, but will buy EVERYTHING I can get my hands on tomorrow. This is how dire the need is.

mushy

Nathan, I am SO old.

Sounds like, really really fucking boring.

When will people stop being part throwback, part new. Really, It's old.

This stuff is not good music. My prediction: We will have forgotten them in a year (if we ever hear from them anyway).

My other problem is that every time a young kid "hips" me to some new shit, it sounds like something I used to listen to back in the day. I then play what I used to listen to and the new kid has never heard it, and flips out and buys it and forgets the new band.
