On the Corner - Miles Davis

I just bought this today. Could this perhaps be the strangest Miles Davis album? I thought Live-Evil was something different, but On the Corner is just crazy. Madness.

Love it.

Anyone here who likes or dislikes this one?

It's a masterpiece. The electric stuff got wilder and wilder as he went along. Pangaea makes this sound like Disney tunes.

it's really very cool, but you can't listen to it expecting to hear kind of blue.

On The Corner is an alright album, some of the rhythms are a little bit too

repetitive. IMO it's nowhere near his best albums.

I read something that said it was like a precursor to "trance" music.I totally agree. It can put you in a trance sometimes and yet,it can make me very active at time.I do all kinds of animated and silly funky dances to this. This is one of those head bobbers.I have purchased it twice.I had to have the remastered and remixed copy.Great sound!

I love On The Corner. Check out the Jack Johnson sessions from the previous year for more of that craziness. Too bad he dropped the tabla/sitar thing the following year after the live album.
