London - The Dominion Theatre Cologne - Musical Dome "Hello again, my beauties! Is it happening? Is everybody okay? Wanna fool around?" - Freddie Mercury THE OFFICIAL FREDDIE MERCURY 60th BIRTHDAY PARTY On September 5th 2006 Freddie Mercury would have been 60, and, to celebrate, EMI Records and Queen are throwing Birthday Parties in his honour in London and Cologne. Each celebration will be centred around a performance of the world-wide smash hit musical We Will Rock You. With the blessing of Freddie's family, and in association with the International Queen fan clubs, the whole evening will be dedicated to both Freddie and his fans. The proceeds from every ticket bought for these very special performances of We Will Rock You will go to the Mercury Phoenix Trust - Fighting AIDS Worldwide, the charity set up by Brian May, Roger Taylor and Jim Beach following Freddie's death in 1991. Depending on the party you attend, there will also be one-off script features, red carpets, competitions, special Freddie Mercury moments, Mercury Phoenix Trust collections, official mementos and special guests! The whole evening will also be filmed and photographed with a view to recording the evening’s frivolities! In London, Capital Gold have lent their considerable support to the event and will be running a Freddie Mercury week that will include some superb competition prizes, plus, of course, hours of Queen and Freddie hits. In Cologne, there will also be great support by the main radio-station WDR 2. The Official Freddie Mercury 60th Birthday Parties will take place at: London - The Dominion Theatre Cologne - Musical Dome THE ‘MOST OUTRAGEOUSLY DRESSED' COMPETITION To add to the party atmosphere and sense of occasion, guests at both shows will be encouraged to attend in fancy dress. There will be a special award on the night for the ‘Most Outrageously Dressed'. The winner at the Dominion Theatre will receive flights, hotel and tickets for two, for the opening night of We Will Rock You in Durban, South Africa on 30th September 2006. The winner in Cologne will receive two tickets for the We Will Rock You opening night in Zurich, Switzerland on 3rd December 2006, also with hotel accommodation. I can't believed that it been 15 years since he passed on. I remembered when I was 11 and I heard it on TV they talked about his death from AIDS. But his music still lives on. | |
