La 5a Estacion (La Quinta Estacion)

Has anyone heard of this group? I love this cd even though I don't understand a single word of it. I picked it up as a promo as my last job. Can any Spanish orgers shed some light on this group? I can't find anything much about them that's written in English. All I know is the group started in Spain and ended up in Mexico.

For anyone who's never heard of them, they are a rock/pop group with Spanish vocals by the girl.

the song "Daria" is pretty cool. and i know they have 2 albums. "Flores De Alquier" is their 2nd. and like most groups, there was a few band member changes early on.

i'll do m best to translate...my English is not that good. wink

Daria lo que fuera por tener
i'd give what i'd have to, to have
tan solo unos segundos para desaparecer
only afew seconds to disappear
pero sigo tan visible como ayer
but i go on till visible like yesterday

Daria lo que fuera por saber
i'd give what i'd have to to know
que el suelo sigue aqui bajo mis pies
that the ground continues below my feet
pero no, sigo siendo tan volatil como ayer
but i don't continue on so volatile like yesterday

Y daria, tantas cosas daria
and i'd give, so many things i'd give
solo porque este mundo no girara tan de prisa
only because this world doesn't spin fast enough
tantas cosas daria, por no ver tus manias
so many things i'd give, not to see your frenzy
por quedarme colgada una vez mas de tu sonrisa
to stay hung up on more time on your smile

Daria lo que fuera por saber
i'd give whatever to know
que piensas cuando dices que todo va bien
what you think when you say that everything's fine
tal vez, tendria una razon para correr
maybe you'd have a reason to run

y ya ves...no me quedan tantas cosas por perder
and you'll see...i don't have much t lose

hope that helps... biggrin

I have made slight changes on Chico's excellent translation smile

I would give

I'd give anything to have
just a few seconds to disappear
but i'm still as visible as yesterday

I'd give anything to know
that the ground is still here below my feet
but no
I'm still as volatile as yesterday

and I'd give..
I'd give so many things
to make this world not spin this fast
I'd give so many things not to see your obsessions,
to stay hung up once more on your smile

I'd give anything to know
what you think when you say everything's fine
maybe I'd have a reason to run

and you know...i don't have much left to lose

I see their videos a lot on the mun2 channel. They are okay. The singer supposedly has the hots for one of the guys in Orishas.

Yeah, it's the second Telemundo channel mun-dos or mun2. Get it? It's all music videos.

Have you ever heard La Oreja de Van Gogh? If you like La 5a, then you might like them too.

I like some of their songs, but was never motivated enough to buy an album. I like Latin American groups more--like Aterciopelados, Icaro Azul and Juana Molina. Julieta Venegas is good too, but she is very poppy now.

La Oreja is music for girls here. You know, the one boys won't admit to liking.
I like some Aterciopelados and Julieta Venegas too but I'm a casual listener. Never bought them either.

That's funny. But my musical tastes aren't very masculine either so maybe I will like an Oreja album after all.

Yeah, I downloaded some show by them. It's not bad, but the singer has a baby girl voice that I'm not crazy about.

How about Alejandra Guzman?

Or Bebe? She won a few Latin Grammys I believe.

I'm all for supporting rock en Español/Latin alternative.

Bebe Gilberto? I used to have people come in for her cd alot, but I haven't heard it. I suspect that I like La 5a Estacion so much because it's poppy and I love the pop. I'm a pop kid.
