The American cover wasn't near as good... Somewhat of a variation on this:

I beleive the Rhythm NAtion cover conveys the message of the album, as well as the Velvet Rope album.

As cheesy as the Control cover is now, I think it's iconic. The problem is seeing artwork on cd's compared to albums-- where the image would jump out-- because artist had more room to work with.

Cd covers tend to look flat and uninspired.

I had a poster like that. I wonder what ever happened to it. hmmm

Didn't Zack Morris have a poster like that in Saved By the Bell?

And yes, Zak did have this poster, I remember because I was surprised we had the same poster at the time.

Ok, now I'm shamed too.

Be it thick as a milkshake or thin as a corn flake, I love it to death! smile Never saw that one either. I wasn't much into singles when I was younger (or now even, to be honest), so I missed most of these.

lololol... i think the artwork from 80's album covers... look cheap or the colors faded.... i like some of the album covers now... like britney's greatest hits was a nice album cover, and beyonce's dangerously in love... they both looked better than janet's control album

I think part of looking at those old album covers take me back to when I first bought them in the 80's. I'm only 30, but I vividly remember getting Control May 6,1986 for my birthday. (LOL).

wow i was just a baby... i was born that year... so that means you were like 10 years old... anyways it seems like most artist made their best music during the 80's... and some of their music from the 80's outshines the music they make now

Yep! I had just tured 10. I'm sitting here listening to some "old" 80's music from Themla Houston, Cheryl Lynn and the 12 inch single of The Pleasure Principle-- you know the version from the video with the cool breakdown.

But I can't hate on all the music today. There are still some great pop records to be found.

I think they take on so many projects and run out of ideas. Sometimes they have the magic these days. I hope they get it right with Janet this time.

Now you gonna make me get my Krush Groove soundtrack out with Tender Lover on it.

LOL. Nice talking to ya. Have a great night.
