First off, I do believe Peaches' crotch has the same healing power as the blarney stone, Robert Tilton, the Fountain of Youth, or perhaps even Mary herself (I'm talking about Ms. Blige, of course).

Secondly, her opening band EAGLES OF DEATH METAL are one of the sexiest, most badass, hot-shit rock bands I've ever seen perform live. See these guys once and the wussy poops passing themselves off as "modern rock" these days will be exposed for the Air Supply tribute acts they are.

But Peaches...oh lord. Her show involved an opening number performed from the balcony dressed in a silver spacesuit, and it also involved multiple costume changes, bicycle tricks, a giant inflatable penis, a drag queen dressed like one of The Invincibles, band members who included a member of Le Tigre and the former drummer from Hole (who looked like Pink, only HOTT), and a bunch of other things I'm sure I'm not remembering. I'm superduper glad Eleven went with me, if for no other reason, someone I trust can verify that last night actually happened instead of it just being some kind of sextrocious acid flashback.

Most importantly, Peaches was a ROCK GODDESS throughout the whole show, prancing and posing and doing the gesture to the audience whenever possible. She had us snared in her clutches like a velvety venus fly trap, and we were all blissfully liquified by her secretions. This isn't some American Idol floozie pieced together by a focus group. The entire night was a reminder of what a fun night out at a concert is SUPPOSED to be.

And did I mention she did bike tricks?

Finally, on a Prince-ish related note, she performed the song HANKY CODE as part of her encore. This song (a b-side available now at iTunes, go get) is SUCH A VANITY/APPLES 6 SONG, IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY.

I don't know if I'll ever see a hairy jewish woman in her bra and panties singing about hanky codes while being carried around by a group of drag queens/kings, but I hope it happens again someday soon.

I must say, the last show I saw of hers was one of my top 10 performances I've ever seen EVER at First Ave. And I've been to a LOT of shows.

Josh Homme from QOTSA plays drums but I saw them on Letterman and they had 2 drummers. The Eagles of Death Metal name came from Josh seeing them and said you're like mellow death metal band. In fact you're like the Eagles of death metal. I'm not sure if the story is true but it always made me laugh but the band seems like a parody of punk rock from what I've seen/heard.
