NIN, Bauhaus and Peaches round off NIN's US tour

It was one of the best concert experiences I've ever had (next to 2004 Prince, of course). The stage/set design was ultra-cool and the performances were amazing.

Peaches opened the show with lots of crazy style and flair, then quintessential Goth band Bauhaus came on, with Peter Murphy still proving he is Godfather of Goth - for who else, in the middle of summer, would wear a dark velvet suit, brocade vest, pointed shoes and stuff red rose petals in his truss?

Trent Reznor (now less Goth and more rock), is buffed-out, short-haired, sober and at 41, rocks hard on stage with his vocals better than ever. He remains the multi-talented musician who was credited with bringing industrial music to the masses. His current set list is a tight and inspiring mix of old NIN classics with newer offerings from the latest CD. They omitted their cover of Queen's "Get Down Make Love" - one of my favorites - but the terrific show more than made up for it.

Man, this tour has people hyped so much, it got two threads this week: http://www.prince.org/msg/8/194910

I went to the NY show. Very impressed with Trent's stage production. Best Bauhaus performance I've seen in the last eight years.

This was NIN's best performance yet on this tour - great set list, too. I was bummed that they dropped "Get Down Make Love" by the time they rolled back here, but the show was excellent - no complaints! biggrin Bauhaus was fun as well - and Peaches was pretty crazy.
