The genre is freestyle. Sometime the "latin" part is added to help avoid any confusion with rap music. Afrika Bambaataa has stated that Freestyle is Hip-Hop. I was teasing. I was into the whole Latin freestyle thing for about a minute. I used to rock Boy I've Been Told and Bad of the Heart like they were the shit...and this was 5 years ago.

I still listen to freestyle at least twice a month. This genre has always been on the cutting edge of music technology. This counts as electronic music, IMHO.

I'm too lazy to look it up now, but they produced all that stuff, even into the '90s. Was it Barbosa?

The record redefined the electro funk sound that Arthur Baker and John Rocca (who produced "I.O.U" by Freeez and "One More Shot/Get Wet" by C-Bank) developed in 1982.

I didn't read the whole list but that one stuck out a whole lot....what the fuck? I would say the same for Lisa Lisa "All Cried Out" (and the fact that they have back to back tracks by the same artists shows the list isn't very good..."And Can You Feel The Beat" should be Top 20 or 40!).

No, it wasn't them. Mark Liggett and Chris Barbosa produced the Shannon records, and they also did a lot of work with Sa-Fire and George LaMond.

Once again, since I'm in Southern Cali and there's a Latino/Latina on every block, another constant request at a quote unquote "Mexican Party" that I always get is Crazy Over You by Deseree and Danger TNT! Also Make The World Go Round by Sandy B is a hot request at these parties, but if your going to make the Latins Really Dance break out Latin Active by a lighter Shade of Brown, (mix in the radioactive original for the transition), then break out Oye Mi Amor by Mana, and end it with a little Doo Wa Ditty by Zapp and Roger and you'll have more brown on the dance floor than you'll know what to do with! Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.
