WHO was better?Jody Watley or Kayrn White? which one did you prefer?
Karyn White was good at first then she married that minneapolis dude and it was over! Yoda is my Mentor!

Jody Watley had more to offer, I think, but my favorite song from either of them is "Secret Rendezvous". Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Jody's "larger than life" album is a clattery masterpiece. She had the attitude over Kayrn, though "ritual of love" album is always playing in the summertime.

Jody Watley for The Funk.

Pebbles.
OK, if I have to pick one of these two, I'll give Jody the slight edge. I like both of them a lot. Karyn is finer. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I love Karyn's "Romantic" and "The way you love me"
but Jody's "lookin' for a new love" and "friends" does it for me...i can dance and do a sexy strut to it... [Edited 7/5/06 17:33pm] [Edited 7/5/06 17:34pm] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Karyn White was well rounded but at the end of the day, Jody's dane cuts where so hot and she made the occasional nice ballad as well ("Everything"). I recently bough the Japan exclusive Karyn White hits set...if I had the Jody Wately set along with it...no comparison!

Jody is a beauty, 'tis true. But, I don't think she could have done "Superwoman."
Whereas Karen might have been able to pull off "Still a Thrill," though in a slightly higher key.

Also interesting is that Karyn White (along with Johnny Gill) is a bridge between two of the most successful production duos: LaFace and Jam & Lewis. She started out as a LaFace girl, Jam & Lewis handled Ritual of Love, and Babyface did a couple of songs on her last album. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Not 2 go All In The Family on U, but yeah... those were the days. ...and on male side, we had Will Downing, James Ingram, etc, holding down the real . Peace. "He's a musician's musician..."

Isn't Karyn White the one that recorded "Super Woman"? Oh HELL NAW! Jody Watley by far!!!! Karyn did shit like Shitney Houston. Andy is a four letter word.

karyn might have had a better voice but she is no where near Jody's league. Jody actually crossed over to the pop world for quite some time...then throw in her days with Shalamar and theres no comparing. Space for sale...

Jody. She was in the business longer, Had more hit songs and was the better dancer. Not to take anything away from Karyn. She was the better vocalist. I think she would've had greater success if Babyface had produced a couple more albums for her. She was at her best when he was working with him like Jody was with Andre Cymone, And Janet was with Jimmy and Terry.

I liked both of them, with a slight edge going to Jody.
She sang somgs that made u dance and made u cry. He version of "When a man loves a Woman",was very interesting. She also had a sister that was in x-rated movies.....lol. Karen on the otherhand, was very nice to look at. She was like the poor man's Jody....Her songs were fun and sometimes they showed just what a talent she is. I wish that Karen still recorded. I know that Jody is coming out with a new CD and I just picked up her last one. It is in a dance-house groove. Really nice.
