This song was a massive radio hit here in the Bay Area.KSOL used to play this song to death, back in the fall of 1983.When I first heard it,I thought that Prince had something to do with it.There's a definite "Minneapolis Sound" thing going on in this song. It's reminiscent of Prince's Dirty Mind/Controversy period. Some of other songs on their album are even more Prince-sounding ("If I Gave You A Party (Would You Come)" and "K-I-S-S-I-N-G").

I think it was mainly a Bay Area thing.I've spoken with folks who live on the East Coast who have never heard this song! Hmm, I'm not shocked. The East Coast snobbery of West Coast Rap is very well documented. Living to die and I'll die to live again - 360 degrees - comprehend

I think it was mainly a Bay Area thing.I've spoken with folks who live on the East Coast who have never heard this song! Me too and I'm Philly East Coast born and raised. The only reason I heard this song was because my cousin was a DJ back then and he would use that cut to practice off of.
