But can he sing soulful, maybe, but he has never sung anything in King's X that I would consider "soulful", that was Corey's forte. A lead singer can and should contribute toward a song being "soulful", "funky", just as much as the musicians. Corey's voice added funk and soul to LC's sound and I for one would not like to see LC become a rock band with no soul, just a 'all black band' with no blackness. All black on the outside but all white on the inside. Nawl that ain't my cup of tea.
Curious set of responses you've posted, but Wotdafukk, I'm not going to debate opinion. However, given the inevitability that 1) Living Colour had committed to a European tour and 2) Corey signed on to JCS, who would be your choice to fill in the vocals. It'd be interesting to see other possibilities knowing that someone had to be picked (first one to suggest a "Wanna be a Black Rock Star" contest gets pimp-slapped! ). test | |

Pretty interesting news. I saw King's X open for Living Colour on the Time's Up tour. Should be interesting to hear some recordings of the upcoming shows. Tapers prepare!
