I have just discovered this amazing artist. I urge you to get her hits cd...absolutely brilliant !

She`s great, one of the most emotional voices ever...
There`s two songs you just have to hear:

"Baltimore"

"Tomorrow is my turn"

These songs are so beautiful

personally i love "to love somebody"

of course she weirded me out with that story about shooting the kid with a BB gun.

i heard her sing "i get along very well without you (except sometimes)" in that wesley snipes/sanaa lathan movie :disappearing acts"..very powerful

Check out her version of Tina and Ike's 'Funkier Than a Mosquito's Tweeter'
She also did a very nice civil rights movement song 'I wish I knew how it would feel to be free'.

Nothing like a Nina Simone interview,,,,she loves throwing bombs in interviews, so to speak.

She did a gig in some juke joint in Harlem not so long ago(couple of years b4 she died).

A couple were talking during her per4mance, cut the per4mance OFF and said to them "I spit on both of you motherfuckers" and continued the per4mance like nothing happend.

These 2 kept their mouth shut after that lol they didn't even got out

She gets deranged when folks talk during her per4mance or don't listen,,,,throwing nasty tantrums.

she also did a concert in London shortly before she died. She arrived 2hrs late, went straight to the piano with two shopping bags...put the down and sat at the piano. Someone in the crowd starting boo-ing and she stopped playing and called the audience ''a load of c**ts ''
