Lily Allen - Best pop album of the year? Anybody else heard her? She's kind of dubby pop from England (is she big there?) Don't know know much about her, but I can't get enough of the album. Amazing Kaiser Chiefs cover, and a couple of really great singles. Not a bad track on it. | |

not heard the album, but i quite like the single Smile.

i keep hearing about her. what is she like? i didn't realise her cd was out already. is she doing anything new or diferent? It's leaked to the torrent sites. It feels different to me. It's very catchy, dubby stuff, but feels a bit more lived-in than Gwen Stefani or the Streets or whatever. I dunno, it's definitely pop, but no other pop album has delivered better hooks or funny lyrics this year for me: "There was a little old lady who was walking down the road She was struggling with bags from Tesco There were people in the city having lunch in the park I believe that is called alfresco" It's so simple it's genius. I don't know about best of the year....but I like the album a lot. "Knock Em Out" is hilarious, especially at the end when she makes up b.s excuses like having herpes. Another one I like is "Everything's Just Wonderful". It sounds kinda mod. I wonder why she didn't put "Nan,You're a Window a Shopper" on there. It's kind of an off the wall song to cover. I like his lyrics, but vocally he's pretty monotone throughout everything I've heard from him. so this cd is out already?? I found July 17, but I'm not sure if that's the states or the UK. It's leaked to the torrent sites, however. I know the single is out on Itunes.
