Okay, so I am waiting for my CD/DVD to come. I went back and looked at Amazon. They finally have a pic of the release and a note about the DVD: it's PAL format!

Does this mean there won't be a domestic release with a NTSC (non-European) DVD? Or am I gonna be getting a DVD I can't play?

i've only read about a UK release of this. Canadian & Japanese versions are NTSC as well, if there's a release of it in either country. i believe Brazil is as also. if not, you could look around for a cheap dvd player that is multi-regional (but make sure it says multi-regional and includes PAL). there are some that cost under 40. or take it to a video conversion shop.

The orgins i think of the differnt countries using differnt formats was to prevent bootlegging of the releases that were european only vs american only. Americans, Asians, and some of Austrilia uses NTSC. in the world market they should just make everything the same.

PAL has more lines on the screen and is therefore a clearer picture. That's the reason why all European TVs can easily play NTSC videos and DVDs but it's hrder for you guys to convert the other way.
