Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence....being played in Walgreens...AGAIN.

omg I was in Walgreens picking up a few things and Enjoy the Silence came on Walgreen's radio. They usually play light rock like Michael Bolton and present James Taylor whenever I go in there lol I forced myself not to sing along in fear of running everybody out of the store. God forbid me to dance along with it lol

****This must be on Walgreen's official station or something, because the other night I was in there getting a Father's Day card and heard it again. lol If Walgreens keep it up....then I'll be officially done with listening to this song lol Enjoy the Silence was followed by Ozzy Osbourne's "Dreamer" falloff god, that's an awful song.

I was in Rite Aid once, and couldn't believe that they were playing 'Judith' by A Perfect Circe. Unedited. Granted, it was around 12:30 in the morning, but still...

(FUCK Your God)
Your Lord, your Christ
(He did this)
Took all you had and
(Left you this way)
Still you pray, never stray, never
(Taste of the fruit)
Never thought to question why

Not anymore really. Im sure who ever produces the can music has spent ungodly amount of research on who/what/why shops at walgreens and other stores.

Time has marched on and now what we listened to as young adults is now used as a tool to make for a enjoyable marketing experience.

Which this whole thread has proven to be true.

I just hope that they played the original version and not one of those goddamn awful remixes from the 00's. The original is one of the best songs ever by any artist imo.

I haven't been to a Kohl's yet. I know Sonic's radio station is nice too. For the most part they play oldies.....at least they did when they first opened up. I guess to give it a real feel of the old school drive ins. This was when the girls used to come out on skates.....now they just walk out lol

lol I did hear "Voices Carry" a long time ago while at Walgreens, but that didn't suprise me like hearing Depeche Mode. It was still a nice change from Bolton lol I actually assed around in the store just to finish hearing Voices Carry.

I did hear Mazzy Star at the grocery store once, which was pleasant

and come to think of it, I heard New Power Soul in its entirety while shopping at Best Buy way back when. The first and only time I've ever listened to it. It was enough to make me say, wow, that really sucks!

Back in 98-99, i think it was, The Gap was playing Prince's "Courtin' Time" regularly in their store mixes. I was walking through the mall and was like "What the F*$%??"

There was a jukebox at a local bar I used to go to, that had Lovesexy in it. It was the one-track version. If you put a quarter in and tried to play any track from it, it would actually play the whole album from start to finish. I found this out the hard way one time, and people in the bar started complaining, so the bartender had to unplug the machine to reset it, LOL.
