AFI! rocks!

so here i am reading about how some group named AFI will debut on the billboard album chart next week at #1 selling over 260,000 copies and i'm like who are they???

so i had to check em out

and they are awesome! they have a hit single out that is #1 on MTV this week called Miss Murder and to top it off they have a very cool look...i've been waiting for a band with a cool look to come along and change the boring look of music..and here they are! smile

they were "okay" back in the early 90's with that whole "hardcore-we are going to sing real fast punk thang they had going on" now that they are on there we are gothier than goth mood..they are horrible..

I didn't get hip to them till a few years ago, right around the same time their diehard fans were claiming they were sellouts. They're pretty cool actually.

Is this going to be their " POP " album, where a guy like me could possibly buy it , like it on its own terms and not be a full tilt fan? So far I love the song Miss Murder and some other tracks I've heard, I'm willing to give it a try. That happened for me with Green Day and American Idiot , if this is the only Green Day album I'll own, I'm happy. Can the same be said for December Underground ?

I bought their latest album 'Decemberunderground'.I like it but 'Sing the Sorrow' was better,sorry 2 say. I still love them,though.

'Sing The Sorrow' from 2003 is just as crossover friendly I think. Anything before that when they were still indie, probably won't appeal to you.

i totally miss freaky rock stars like in the 80's i just dont like the flannel shirt t-shirt wearing 90's...bring back the glam!

yeah they been around for time!

I actually love the new album, but it is much softer than their usual efforts.. loving Summer Shudder right now! Miss Murder is cool too.

The best album of there other stuff is Black Sails In The Sunset... still love Malleus Maleficarum!!! Woah oh oh!!!!
