Wolfmother

Anyone know anything about this band? Anyone here a fan? I keep hearing about them here and there, and then I saw a video the other day of theirs and I really liked it. They sound like Black Sabbath a lot to me. hmmm Opinions?

Yeah, I'm hip to them. They have a song called "Love Train" that's really cool. They get quite a bit of airplay on Rodney on the Roq on KROQ out here in L.A. Their album is pretty consistent and their influences are definately early to mid 70's rock, which is cool.

Yes, that's the impression I got from the small bit I've heard of them. I'm thinking about maybe getting their album. hmmm

I believe u would dig it. They're not better than their influences but u know, I like them waaay better than The Stokes and The Vines.

Yeah, they caught my ear in a way that most bands these days haven't so far. But a with most things new, I'm sure I'll get bored of them quickly. lol boxed

Probably. I'm keeping my eye open to see if they're going to hit The Roxy or The Viper Room. If so, I'll definately go check them out live. They may be better live so that'll give them an edge since their album isn't through the roof.

the mere reason that they sound like black sabbath or led zeppelin is telling you how un-orginal this bland band is..i mean i want something that sounds like black sabbath or led zeppelin i listen to them.in other words Wolfmother is crap.

music I keep meaning to pick this one up. I have heard a few songs and i like them. They played noisepop this year, but the club sold out too fast for me, and they are playing in SF on Saturday night, but my best friend's wedding is this weekend. pout

I've read many reviews of their live shows on another board (granted, it's the Zeppelin board, so I think they are a bit biased towards that heavy 70's sound) and they were all very good. nod It's the type of band that for me, would be much better live I think.

Anyway, that's why I asked about them here, to get a different perspective on them, since you people are, um, extra special. biggrin
