MJ and Madonna are, without question, the King and Queen of Pop respectively. Are they MY personal KOP AND QOP? Nope. But technically, I don't think there are any higher. "But what about Prince"? Well, Prince is too damn good to be limited to just one genre to be king of. razz

Royalty of rock? I don't know. shrug I haven't dug into rock music deep enough to appoint anybody.

Jazz and blues... same.

I think Aretha is the undisputed Queen of Soul (few have rivaled that voice), and the King? Marvin Gaye, maybe? Curtis Mayfield (among others) may have brought social consciousness to soul music before him, but I think it was Marvin who REALLY kicked the door down. And, like Aretha, his voice was one-of-a-kind.

Finally, funk. I'd put my money on George Clinton as King, although James Brown was the original pioneer. See, there was the Godfather... then there was Sly.. and then... then there was STAHCHIL'. headbang I believe pure funk was at its highest point of evolution with Parliament-Funkadelic, so that's why I declare Clinton "King". Others may feel free to disagree with this youngin'.

Queen? lol You tell me.

King Of Rock: Very hard to choose as Rock is my favourite genre. As far as vocals go Dave Coverdale is the one, as a guitarist it is Blackmore of Deep Purple, creater of some of the greatest riffs and solos.

Queen Of Rock: Probably Tina Turner. Amazing vocalist and a true Rock N Roll attitude. Loves it

King Of Soul. Vocally I give it to MJ circa(69-82). Nobody sang soul music more soulfully than him in my opinion. As a composer and player it is Stevie. Created some of the greatest soul music I ever heard.

Queen Of Soul: I'd give it to Aretha, even though I'm not a true fan, as I only own one compilation, but didnt hear quite anything like her voice'not technically but as in making you feel what she says.

King Of Pop: No other choice than MJ for me lol Not a pure pop musician but that's what I love.Since Thriller, always found a magical way to mix other genres with a flavour of pop in them and present them to masses, creating his own unique thing. Helped me get into other genres of music with his diversity.

Queen Of Pop: Sezen Aksu. The Turkish genius. 90% of quality vocalists in Turkey sang atleast one song written and composed by her since late 70s. She totally feeds the music world. She is ofcourse a brilliant vocalist in her own right also. Madonna was gonna be my second choice for completely different reasons.

King Of Funk: James Brown. The only guy that makes me feel sexy lol

Queen Of Funk: ?? confused

Jazz: I only own stuff by Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock. Herbie does it for me.

King Of Blues: hmm Eric Clapton probably as I own most of his records. razz Not a fanatic of anyone

Queen Of Blues: Janis fucking Joplin. The Goddess! She owns me. Pearl is the greatest blues album I ever heard. Move Over + Cry Baby + Mercedes Benz + Buried Alive In Blues drool3 love you love you love you RIP
