Hello All!!! I'm new...
I like Madonna...Luv Janet...Honestly vocally Madonna has it, but as far as dance and choreography I have to go with Janet. BOTH are great entertainers!!!

I'm basing this on TV performances though, I haven't seen either in concert. This reminds me of when a friend said that Janet can't (or doesn't) dance unless it's choreographed. Anyway, I've seen them both live and I think Madonna puts on a better show from lights to set design and so on. I enjoy Janet's shows but I if she tours again she needs to do something completely different. Your friend is absolutely right. When I watch Janet I don't feel I'm seeing a real performer. I feel I'm seeing a robot executing well rehearsed choreography. There's not one spontaneous bone in her body. Choreography should be one aspect of a performer's repertoire, not the whole goddamn show!

This is like deciding which skunk has more funk....it's a tie! They both stink! "I wasn't invited to shake hands with Hitler, but I wasn't invited to the White House to shake hands with the President, either" ~ Jesse Owens

Janet mimes a lot and you wish she would sing more songs live.

The only reason I listen to most of the Madonna songs I listen to, is because they're attached to good videos. Die another Day, was the last Madonna song I wanted to hear more than once.
Though I have no clue what's on the last couple of Janet's CD's, there's always a place for her music...and I prefer her voice. Going with Janet. Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality? - Stupify

Man!...I really should start reading more carefully.
Better on stage? Don't know. Probably Madonna. Janet is the better dancer though. Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality? - Stupify

Vocally, Madonna's latest tour is WONDERFUL. When she belts, she's on key, strong, and she doesn't need has much amplification as Janet.
