I can't find a word to tell how much I love this song! love

Sananda/TTD: Holding On to You

A great unrecognised song indeed. I don't think anything by The Smiths could fall into this category though, as they're a highly regarded and still well known group.
One song that definately should be in this category is Cyndi Lauper's Hatful Of Stars. Just so damn beautiful.

CHIC0

Scarlet red
drips from my veins
What's wrong with me
That I imagine such things
And if only for a moment
Let there be peace
And how can I
Live with this pain
I don't have the strength
To conquer this shame
And if only for a moment
Let there be peace

And tell me did you know
That I still won't let it go
And just maybe you're still flying free
If only

Tell me why
I'm left here alone
I search for your voice
But I should've known
That if only for a moment
You'd be with me

And tell me did you know
That I still won't let it go
And just maybe you're still flying free

If only I could change the way
You were torn away from me
I would never let you go
I'd burn away the plans we made
Pretending to believe
That I am not afraid

And tell me did you know
That I still won't let it go
And just maybe you're still flying free
And tell me did you know
That I still won't let it go
And just maybe you're still flying free

If only

Kylie Minogue's "Take Me with You" would be my pick. Most people think disco glitz when they think of Miss Minogue, but this song is utterly hypntozing in its sultry yearning and remains my favorite song of hers. In fact, if Tracy and I had to pick "our song", this would be it.

Here are two slightly more mainstream picks, but still not super popular:

Song To The Siren - This Mortal Coil
Cantara - Dead Can Dance

Fabulous, both of them. I'll add Sanvean by Dead Can Dance ~ a most incredibly beautiful song. I have an entire story for it written in my mind but haven't had the time to put it on paper.

"Former Lover" by Saint Etienne, from their "Tiger Bay" album.

The music is so gorgeous and Sarah Cracknell's vocals are so beautiful - sad and comforting at the same time, and so perfectly understated - listening to it is like pulling a big heavy blanket around myself on a cold Chicago winter day.

Sigh. cloud9

(and of course, this gives me another reason to post a picture of the distractingly adorable ms. cracknell. love )

there's some dude from the charlatans posing with her, but i don't know WHO could possibly be interested in HIM. giggle

Another Crowded House fan in here! thumbs up!

My choices would be "Distant Sun", "Fall at Your Feet" and the incredible "Four Seasons in One Day" though. The latter must be one of the best pop songs ever written, I have no clue why no one knows it.
