I almost went to that show (in Amsterdam I assume) a few years back. Some friends went and said it was bad. But I love their studio work. heck, even that tour documentary about them was boring. maybe that's why they wound up packaging it free with their last album.

I'm a Maze fan and as much success as they found on the soul/R&B charts, they never crossed over to pop success. It's an oddity really. But as Val said, it's a Dutch list. I'm guessing Maze didn't make many waves in Dutcherland. My first concert from them i've seen in The Netherlands was around 1987 . It was in a venue called Vredenburg , located in the city Utrecht . This was the tour after their Live In L.A. album and 2 years before that , they had scored well here with Back In Stride. The place was absolutely PACKED and the audience dug their tunes deep . They already had visited The Netherlands a few years before , and according to the review of OOR , a musicmag that was always enthousiastic about Maze , it was a sold out hit too . After 1987 they've been here in about 4 or 5 times again . One was in 1989 , in combination with Mother's Finest and Chaka Khan ... again a packed house ( i unfortunately missed that show ) 3 others i've seen were in the early and late 90's , from which 2 at small but packed venues in Rotterdam and to my memory their last show at 1998 here in Amsterdam ( Paradiso ), featuring Frank McComb as guest-singer on Fender Rhoades . I've seen quite some postings from Dutch Maze-fans , on the forum of the Dutch North Sea Jazz Festival , wondering when Frankie & Crew will finally perform over there . Not so shure if it's because of a Dutch list that there are not much Funk or Soul-related albums in there . The Netherlands was always one of Prince's favourite countries to perform . And recently , Earth Wind & Fire did a short European Tour in only the UK and The Netherlands . . . . [Edited 6/2/06 8:42am]

Even not being an hip-hop fann, there are some albums from that genre that should be there...

co- They always are (like everything else defined in the world), that's why I generally take shit like this with a grain of salt. This list is actually comical.

Another "whitewash" list. Why can't they just be honest and call it the "Best Rock/ white Albums" in Pop history, instead of throwing in the odd 4 albums by black artists so they can pretend it's an all inclusive list...
