New ESG!

I just read online that the original no wave band ESG has a new cd coming out in July! I can't wait. I love this band. Anyone else hp to ESG??

Read this from Soul Jazz Records...

ESG
The legendary ESG return with a new single and album and a tour of Europe, Japan and the UK. The single "Insane" is released 29 May and the album "Keep On Moving" is released on Soul Jazz Records in July. Tour dates are:
May 26: FRANCE-Lyon - Nuits Sonores Festival.
May 28: FR-Paris - Fondation Cartier,
May 31: PORTUGAL -Porto - Casa Da Musica,
June 1st: PORTUGAL-Lisbon – Lux,
June 2nd: SPAIN-Barcelona - Primavera Sound Festival.
June 4th: Reykjavík Trópík 2006 - Reykjavik, Iceland
July 12: Unit, Tokyo
July 13: Unit, Tokyo
July 14: Unit, Tokyo
July 16: Noon, Osaka
UK Tour follows in September.

they did that cut "ufo" which was a HUGELY sampled record in the hip-hop world...that fuckin' record should have been accorded the status of being it's own INSTRUMENT that's how fuckin' much it got sampled in the late 80s, early 90s. 99 records. early 80s.

thank god, somebody knows who i'm talking about. yeah i heard they were sampled like crazy in the 80's.

People around here know that's for sure, maybe their all outside playing nod

I know too, love these women from NY, their funk is different. A little out there (the song's called UFO) but I think they've got a vibe of their own.

Thanks for the heads-up on the new album, I can't wait to see how they sound now.

yay another one! you can go here to listen to some samples of their new songs. from what i heard me likes a lot! they are so unique. it's like rock, new wave, no wave and dance! so cool....

Last time I saw them was when they performed at the closing weekend at the legendary Paradise Garage nightclub in NYC on September 1987!! Good to hear some new music to get me "Moody"!! I'll be "Standing In Line" for the new cd!! :}

wow, you've seen them live! i'm jealous. i would love to see them in concert. hopefully they will play the states some time this year.
