I think it's about loss. Maybe the death of her husband or something.

Murder ballad perhaps?

There is a Hungarian poet who wrote a poem about a woman (Ágnes) who's washing a "bloody" veil in the river. She killed her husband and this murder made her crazy - so all she does is washing that veil cos she thinks it's still bloody... lol

Aeriel is one of the best albums i've heard for years. So i've been tripping back over the older stuff and slowly getting into it. smile

i have to admit i love it so much because i always laugh at the swishy swoshy part. other than that i actually think its a beautiful song, though yes, at first i was less than impressed.

I love Aerial, although Mrs. Bartolozzi isn't a particular favourite.

The second disc is just... majestic! Prologue, Sunset, Nocturne, Somewhere In Between... all amongst her best work.

And you just know that King Of The Mountain will go down as vintage Kate at it's best.

it just sounds to me like kate being the insane fucking genius she is....though sometimes when my mood is right, i "get" the song. i don't think it's anything as intense as a murder ballad, though i think that creepy, ominous edge is certainly intentional.

Sorry to say, but I think you might be right there.
How comes no one's mentioned how good Bertie is? How comes no one's mentioned what an awful name that is to saddle your son with? How comes no one's mentioned that Kate's voice is slightly thinner than it used to be? How comes no one's mentioned.... sorry, I'm out.

If you think that's weird then you should get your hands on The Dreaming.
