This was done as part of a 1999 "ABC AFTER NEW YEAR'S SPECIAL" that Sanborn did for the network, (he did another one previously, in '98)...it came on right after Dick Clark's New Years show...'course, most folks weren't watching at 2:00am, which was a shame, because Sanborn was hoping the network would pick it up as a regular series....it was a continuation of what he did for the NBC show, "Sunday Night/Night Music".... This '99 lineup included David Sanborn, Eric Clapton, Cassandra Wilson, D'angelo, Gang Starr, Marcus Miller (bass), Ricky Peterson (keys), Don Alias (percussion), Gene Lake (drums), and Steve Gadd (drums and percussion). The '98 lineup was Sanborn, Marcus Miller, and Don Alias jamming with Lou Reed, Dr. John, Joan Osborne, Isaac Hayes, Naughty by Nature, and Boz Scaggs.... ...
