I hate that pinched look of sincerity she always wears in her videos.
I hate the way every one of her songs wafts along with the same hazy, ethereal atmosphere.
I hate that nauseating quiver she always has in her voice. Naturally, she can't let one second pass without taking pains to vocally remind you how passionate she is, how powerful her emotions are.

She nicely manages to encompass all things I despise musically.

I have loved her from the beginning. I can understand how she can be boring to some...but when an artist's songs have helped change your life around the way her's has me...I give her the upmost respect. From SOLACE to FUMBLING to SURFACING...each album came at a significant time in my life...in many ways she helped me realize things about myself that would eventually save my life. (I was never suicial ya'll but did put myself in dangerous situations).

I watched DMC (of Run DMC) VH1 documentary recently and he spoke of Sarah and her song 'Angel' and how that helped him cope with finding out he was adopted. Turns out Sarah was adopted to and the two of them bonded and recorded that 'Cat's in the Cradle' remake.....she just touches certain people and it's just hard to explain unless you were touched yourself.

I think we all have that one artist that can do no wrong to us individually no matter what others say.
