I love their songwriting and I honestly don't give a fuck about the naysayers. I just thought that other than you and I, no-one else here would be that interested. Hence the note. Best Bee Gees album? Main Course. I'm love First, Horizontal, Odessa, Children Of The World, Spirits, One, Size Isn't Everything and Still Waters very much, too.

There's a few, but it seems it's more of a nostalgic appreciation that they have here rather than genuine fandom. I don't think many will be interested in the remasters. And you'll probably only get three of them anyway.

It seems that they're working backwards (probably due to the more recent stuff needing less remastering) and Barry has said that he hopes to have the first four albums released by christmas. What I don't get is why they jumped over the 80s albums and went from High Civilization in '91 to Spirits in '79! Maybe they're having difficulty trying to reduce the echo on the 80s stuff.

Thanks for posting this!
Seriously - and I'm not just saying this - I was going through a mini Bee Gees phase last week and was blasting this album on Saturday, before I went out! (Even though one of my other housemates said "Who put this shit on??!" ). And it IS one of their best albums. Fantastic! I was wondering when the remasters would appear... good to know they're on their way.

Hey brother, how you be? You interested in the remasters, too? Hey! All the better for seeing you - I've been meaning to Orgnote. Good to have you back. I am, mate. Seriously, as I just posted, I was thinking about this the other day. The ones I'm really looking forward to are: ~ Main Course ~ Children Of The World ~ Spirits (Having Flown) I really need to get into their early stuff but I only ever dived in from 'Mr Natural' onwards. I will at some point... How are you doing, by the way?

I wanna meet your housemate! It's a good job I love her. She's as close to being my sister as could possibly be so she she just got the and I carried on playing it. Not sure what Lionel - my other housemate - thought, though. He was the one being subjected to it in the kitchen.

The one thing I love about this album is the credits...
I can't remember them all but I think Barry is listed as 'vocals and good looks'. It's either Maurice or Robin who's credited with 'vocals and shell collecting'. [Edited 5/15/06 6:04am]

Mr. Natural, huh? That's not a very popular album. What made you investigate that one? How am I doing? I'm still breathing. That's good, isn't it? . askedthatalready edit [Edited 5/15/06 6:18am]

to be honest,I am only familiar with four Bee Gees albums:
Main Course (1975) Children Of The World (1976) Saturday Night Fever (1977) Spirits Having Flown (1979) I never bought or heard any of the other albums.I guess I'm strictly a fan of their disco/R&B period

Living Eyes, One, Size and Still Waters would probably be most to your liking. The 60s albums are great too, athough not to everyone's tastes. It's the early 70s albums that are a bit hit and miss, imo.

Yeah, maybe all those reissues will be a waste of time. Just stick to 'Saturday Night Fever' and bin the rest. I didn't actually start off with 'Mr Natural' - and, yeah, it does get a bad rap - but that's how far back I've gone in their catalogue. Maybe it's because it wasn't one of their strongest albums that I didn't bother digging any further. But I have all their albums from 'Mr Natural' up to the latest. (Including 'Living Eyes', thank you. ). And I do have a copy of 'Odessa' that I borrowed once and need to return to its' owner.
