Right? I mean maybe the first 2 could use a little remastering...but the rest?

I love Bjork, because she caters to her fans, But I also think she bleeds them dry at the same time.

I am hoping for break-outs from this set. I'm sure we'll get them after the box set comes out. Like the Live Box CD & DVD's you can get all seperately now.

It's going to be 7 - 8 CD's...expect it to be over 100 esp since there are videos to be included. (wonders if telegram will be included)

hmmm... does "new version" mean the whole thing (or large parts of it) have been re-worked, or just that there's a bonus track tacked on to the end? hmm

no clue.

I am thinking the "new versions" will be the surround sound side of things

Isn't Vespertine ALREADY in this format somewhere out there? I KNOW my friend has played it for me once.

I wish they were double disc as in a disc full of extras.

And what would that be...Alt versions or maybe remixes..

Here's an idea..a remix box set! Now that, I'd buy.

She was going to release a box set with all the singles Depeche Mode style (each single containing all different mixes plus b-sides).
That was like 2 years ago and nothing has been said about it

Well... to be fair, they aren't just remastered, they are in 5.1 stereo (surround) for fans who wish to partake in that type of listening experience.

SACDs are useless to me. I'll take the 5.1 DVDs thank you.

All the albums and videos have been released elsewhere. Unless you are the hugest of huge Bjork completists (which I am - and I STILL won't be buying this) or a 5.1 geek there is really no point.

It was shelved/postponed...basically she couldn't do it for some reason.

pout

Well, now Depeche Mode are also re-releasing their albums in 5.1 sound but you get:

  • Remastered CD
  • SACD 5.1 Mix
  • DVD with 3 different high definition sound mixes (DTS 24/96, Dolby Surround and PCM Stereo)
  • all b-sides from the album
  • a 30' documentary about the album

All that for 15 Euro ( I always find the cheapest offers)

What you don't get:

  • The videos

We already have them in one place

So Bjork, if you're gonna bleed us dry, do it right nod

And does anyone REALLY get into "the listening" experiece like this? I love music and I love clarity and rich sounding and all. But I don't like sit back with a cup of tea and listen to music like the that (Oh hear the birds chirping out of the tiny left hand speaker). Don't get me wrong I do like a good "stereo experience" but I don't even understand all this surround sound stuff or if it really matters. I am sure for sound efficianos it does or people who have the time, money and gumption/knowhow to set up a room in 5.1.

I do. My stereo system is set up for 5.1 surround sound and the few albums I have in 5.1 (like Nellie Mckay and Goldfrapp) sound spectacular.

i agree. the videos aren't really that much of an incentive, since they're all available elsewhere and also, as much as i love my rhino talking heads brick, the video content was a little underwhelming...not to mention i can't rip my dualdiscs to mp3 for anything. pout

Mine don't even play. No big loss since I have so few dualdiscs and I prefer to listen to them at home in the CD player anyway.

The second batch is expected for June, I think.

This is the best price I could find

I think the American versions don't include the Hybrid SACD, just the CD and DVD so I would recommend this European version, free shipping at cd-wow smile

As for the listening experience I can tell you I never listen to the CD version once I get the surround mix. You can still listen to the stereo mix but with higher definition in the DVD nod
