r.i.p Johnnie Wilder Jr. Legendary Musician Passes Away
Dated: 05/15/2006 A music legend from the Miami Valley has passed away. Johnnie Wilder, Junior died Saturday, May 13th at his Clayton home. He was 56 years old. Wilder was a Dayton native and lead singer of the group Heatwave, which he founded with his brother Keith. The group Heatwave hit the Top Ten R&B and pop charts in the 1970's with songs like, "Boogie Nights" and "Always and Forever". Wilder's career had a setback after a traffic accident in 1979 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. He came back in the 1980's to record a gospel music album, My Goal. Wilder's family still resides in the Dayton area. I did not even know Rod T was a part of Heatwave. YES!!!!! Rod T was in Heatwave. If u have the albums, read the credits. He was also ALL OVER "Off The Wall" by Michael Jackson, and anything else that Quincy was producing back in tha day!!!!! | |
