The Commodores-OH NO...

The Commodores were a great group wink . They had alot of nice tunes and my favorite is "OH NO." I love this song heart. It is such a beautiful love song with a great melody. What's your favorite Commodores tune?

It's the words I like, plus Lionel Richie is singing it. If not for him, The Commodores would not exist

Very true..nod

They seem to have lost something once he had left..

But then again, they were becoming watered down when he was there, with that tune...

That was the stronger era when he was working with James Anthony Carmichael .
Just recently i played the opening/title-track Can't Slow Down which has a great drive .
I saw at someones home a live-performance of St. Paul Peterson in 1985 , playing that track . But instead of the synth-bass like in Lionel's version it was replaced for a booming slapthumbfunk MusicMan bass .
You catch the drift if you've ever experienced that bass-sound .

I like his mid-temp-ballad on that album too : Love Will Find A Way

And another fine mid-temp around the same year from the Commodores :

Guitarist Thomas McClary went solo too in 1984 and delivered some strong cuts :
- Man In The Middle
- Contagious
- Gonna Get You Back

"Love Will Find A Way' is a GREAT song. What was the name of that song/video that Lionel put out in 1996? It sounded just like "Just To Be Close To You". Great song also.
