The video is included on the Greatest Hits video collection! I love that video.

How do you weigh Greatest Hits VHS versus the newer Ultimate Collection DVD?

We didn't get the new DVD over here..I don't think. But the former is MUCH better than the latter. The new one is missing 1984 videos as well as the We two are one videos.

my copies of the remasters are gathering dust too, but so are most of my CDs. i pretty much only listen to my music via my mp3 player these days. still, i don't listen to eurythmics much more than i ever have, and i'm still bummed that one of my favorites - the 1984 soundtrack - couldn't be part of the remasters.

yeah, it really should have been included in the box. heck, they should have
left out Peace imo and tried harder to get to include 1984.

I am sure it was the rights issues with the Movie Studio.

hmmm

my copy is on RCA...and an earlier 'greatest hits' comp had 'sexcrime' and 'julia' on it. shrug

That's the video. FOr some reason, the CD never had the same line up. Although I have seen an import that was close (I think)

my sentiments exactly.

though i do have to say that the remasters have given me a little more respect for some of their other albums that i pooh-poohed the first time around - specifically, "be yourself tonight", which is a really good r&b/rock album.

"Julia" hasn't ever been on a comp, unfortunately.

The issues with 1984 do indeed have to do with the film. I would have adored that album to be remastered, as it is among my favorite albums of all time.

I wonder how many of us found that one by accident. I know I did. I didn't know anything off of it and just picked it up. I think it was in the bin or something.

Are you sure about that? I could have sworn that the old "Greatest Hits" CD had "Julia" on it. The import version had a few more songs on it, including "Sexcrime". Then there was a live "Greatest Hits" two-disc set, and it had a live version of "Sexcrime" on it, if I recall correctly...if I were home I could check my CDs, but since I'm at work I'm at the mercy of Google...

OK...I think it goes like this..

US version had 14 songs..JULIA was not on it. VHS had everything.

IMPORT of the CD had a few extra..
1. Love Is a Stranger
2. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
3. Who's That Girl?
4. Right by Your Side
5. Here Comes the Rain Again
6. There Must Be an Angel (Playing With My Heart)
7. Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves
8. It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)
9. When Tomorrow Comes
10. You Have Placed a Chill in My Heart
11. Miracle of Love
12. Sex Crime (1984)
13. Thorn in My Side
14. Don't Ask Me Why
15. Angel
16. Would I Lie to You?
17. Missionary Man
18. I Need a Man

the DOuble CD you speak of is the LIVE cd they put out just after they broke up. That's where the Sexcrime Live is.

My thinking is Savage is a "return: to the sound that made up Touch. As if they didn;t do anyh albums inbetween and had some sort of rock and roll reneisansse in between.

I agree, and that's one of the reasons why i love it so much. As much as I like Be Yourself tonight and Revenge, I was disappointed back in the day when they veered away from the electronic/new wave sound.

My first album of theirs was Revenge. I was really really into Thorn in My Side. I blame RObbie Neville for their demise. smile Legend has it (I was witness) On a certain radio staion they had a "battle" of new singles. It was TIMS last day to win ( you had to have 3 nights in row) of more calls vs the other song. So it was Robbie Neville's "Ces't la Vie" the was debuting and it won against TIMS and they never played it again. I was so upset. I really felt that if they won that time, it wouold have gone higher. Back in the day of nievety.

Though Boy George is said that during one "rehab" moment he heard TIMS and cried because it was they typs of song he wished he could do.

I love Revenge. I love it because of the moment I heard "She said Revenge would be so sweet" in a "little of You" and then I discovered that Revenge was a song off the first album. I liked the syncronicity in that. A reason I like Prince of yesteryear. As much as I liked it, It's not one of my favs, though I like it better than BYT.

In Order

Savage
1984
Sweet Dreams
Touch
Revenge
We too are one
Be yourself tonight
In the garden
Peace

I think Savage is overrated among fans and underrated among critics.
