Many PJ fans thought this was just too polished and therefore corrupt, as if PJ should be relegated to amateur production for her entire life

Personally an album like Dry suffers hugely from the low sound quality. Everything on this album is crisp and beautiful. I love that she went glamour for a minute and I love that she established and shared a connection with NYC & LA and she collaborated with Thom Yorke.....

On the heels of Desire, it was refreshing to hear her connecting back to her roots. That voice and the guitar

I love the way she communicates love:

Ok, I was one of those people who thought this album was 'too polished' when it came out. It didn't keep me from eventually loving it.

I know people tho who hold on to the "polished" factor and held it against the album never giving it a chance or letting that ruin the experience. There is no doubt that this is the most professionally produced of her albums but it's not like she sold out with the music. There are some killer tunes on this album plus she made "Horses in My Dreams" which is one of the most stunning PJ tunes ever

This is a gorgeous album and it's neck and neck with To Bring You My Love for the position as my favorite PJ album. I find the production breathtaking and a song like "We Float" (my favorite PJ song) really benefits from it.

I think this might be my favorite PJ album. Either this one or 'To Bring You My Love'. I know we ranked all of them on a thread a few months ago, but I don't exactly remember what mine was. I do know "Good Fortune" is my favorite PJ song and my #34 favorite song of all time overall. (Moonie will appreciate that ranking. )

Desire still remains my favorite PJ album but this album for me was such a joy because while I could eat PJs electronica ventures for breakfast lunch and dinner, it was like coming home for one of mom's home cooked meals. This album has "comfort" written all over it.

Oh, the other morning I was driving to work and listening to NPR and I hit this mystery pocket of radio airspace and the morning news was overridden with "Good Fortune!" I pulled the car over to finish the song
