"Lady Madonna". Full of the most godawful puns I've ever heard.

Now that's one's easily in my top 20, which makes sense since I love puns.

It's one of my favourite Beatles songs! Listen to the bass on the remastered version. It's trippy. It's all about that bass.

I have the remastered, but... eh. It's a weak vocal, a weak lyric idea, and a blah melody. They left if off Sgt. Peppers for a reason.

But that's just my humble opinion cool

No way! This is one of my favorite Beatle songs ever! I think it's one of their best 'pop' efforts; I can hear the influence in today's pop artists. It's all about the production, the mixing, and the effects.

As far as "bad" Beatle songs, I'd nominate 'Good Morning, Good Morning', 'Wild Honey Pie', 'Honey Pie', 'Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite', 'Piggies', 'Savoy Truffle', and 'Lady Madonna'. ill

some of these songs you're mentioning are fine, more than that they're classics.

but WHY OH WHY does the released version of "It's Only Love' contain such an OUT OF TUNE guitar part, when the Anthology version is clearly superior with a perfectly fine guitar part?

Some of their early stuff is kind of half-finished... people were less caring about fidelity and things in the early rock n roll days i guess.

also, i never cared for some of Paul's more hokey work, namely "when i'm 64"

So interesting how different people's opinions are! I think Good Morning Good Morning is very underrated, but I think Getting Better & Fixing a Hole are much better "Paul" songs than Lovely Rita (though I mentioned how I like the opening to it)

I know John hated Lady Madonna (along with many of you) but I never understood why.

A couple of the Anthology versions are better--Cry Baby Cry is another example. I never really liked it until I heard the Anthology version.

Co-sign! "Rocky Raccoon" is a great song.

I guess "Revolution 9" doesn't count because you said "songs." smile I loathe "Yellow Submarine"! I couldn't even dream of calling Revolver their best album with that crap on it. For some unknown reason, I can't stand "Can't Buy Me Love." That has to be their most overrated song. There are others, but I'll stop there.

I'm the only person in the world who loves "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." Dammit, that song is funny!

I like both Maxwell & Rocky. They're very goofy, but they create their own worlds. They don't strive to be great, and work perfectly for what they are.

I tend to not like songs that feel incomplete or imperfect. Good Day Sunshine has an incredible hook, but the verse is so lazy, and the song becomes very repetitive by the end.

some of their early stuff can get on my nerves because it sounds so samey and naive and at times some of the songs even sound like commercial jingles, but in all honesty, i can find something to enjoy in any beatles song i hear, even if it's just a by-product of growing up with all that music and having good memories attached to the songs.

The early stuff is my favorite. redface

Some of my favorite Beatles too.

It's pure joyous Pop, accent on the Joy...

I Saw Her Standing There
You Can't Do That
A Hard Day's Night
Can't Buy Me Love
Things We Said Today
I Should Have Known Better
Any Time at All
I'm Happy Just to Dance With You

etc.

...How could you not feel good after hearing some of those tunes. wink

Alot of people dislike Oh! Darling, but I bet if Lennon sung it it'd be a Beatles classic. Lennon's voice so much more suited to the song than Paul's. Why was Paul so stubborn? He should've let Lennon sing it. He knew Lennon would've done a better job. McCartney's a jerk, I've never liked him. Great songwriter, good singer, good musician, but a jerk!

I think "Julia" is a song about his mother. Listen to it in that context and I think you might hear a whole different song.

Some of the songs that people in this thread say they dont like but I like:
Lady Madonna, The Ballad of John and Yoko, Rocky Racoon, A Hard Days Night, Lovely Rita (I like all songs in Sargent Pepper actually), ...

Songs of The Beatles that I consider overrated: Hey Jude (barf), Rain, Michelle, Dont Let me down,

Songs by The Beatles really awful: You know my name, The long and widing...
