Tonight's American Idol Two songs each - one from the year they were born and one from one of this week's Billboard top 10 charts. Any guesses which crap emo song Chris will scream this week? Looking forward to Elliott and Katharine's choices this week. [Edited 5/2/06 14:59pm]

[Edited 5/2/06 14:59pm] you be nice to my Chris! No. You wouldn't even like his singing if you didn't think he was hot.

Chris' first song wasn't bad, Elliot's second choice was nice as was Katharine's. Everything else...boring.

*SPOILER*
Maybe I missed something, but Paris was born in 1988...and she sang Kiss? How's that? Oh, wait. Were they going by the Tom Jones/Art of Noise remake year? Nevermind.

This is my only AI of the year because I heard a contestant was doing "Kiss" and just HAD to hear it. The girl who performed it wasn't bad at all. I'd say she is in a battle for second fave, along with that Elliot guy. He has an unpolished smoothness that I could get used to. But they actually have a bona-fide sex symbol with this Chris guy! What might be a minus for him is that he sounds too professional (it killed season two shoulda-been Trenyce). I don't think the audience actually likes someone who they feel are too polished. He has a really strong voice if a little too Scott Stapp in its bombast. But I can definitely see people drooling over his magazine spreads so...

I soooo agree with the Elliot statement. Although Chris is MY sex symbol, Elliot has become my fave. His voice is just sooooo smooth and nice.

Yeah, I don't see the sexiness with Chris. I did for a bit early on, but then...eh, nevermind. Elliot, I love and I think he's sexy even though he's got 23 rows of teeth. And for the life of me, I cannot stop quoting Paula last week. "You mooooved me," with tears all running down over her lips. What a mess, that one!

I don't buy this Simon Cowell charactor. If he cared so much about talent, then he wouldn't even do a show like that. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Chris is great. He's the only person up there that could sustain a career beyond the the first single. He isn't my favorite, but he's the only one who has a shot of being a bankable star/artist. That's got to count for a lot.
