80s: Who were you the most into?

Which artists did you dig the most DURING the 80s?

I was into Tina Turner, MJ, Janet, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Phil Collins, Lionel Ritchie, Whitney, Sheena, Gloria Estefan, Sammy Hagar, Jody ("don't you want me") Watley, Huey Lewis, Prince, Tom petty, and esp THE POINTER SISTERS! my first concert.

in retrospect there is a lot of 80s music I listen to NOW that I like better, more r&b, but i guess i was a pop whore as a little kid.

Well I usually loved individual eighties songs. Like one hit wonders but I loved practicaly everything that was played on the radio by Prince, Madonna and Michael Jackson.

Prince, by far.

But in the early 80's, it was all about top-40 and the R&B on the radio. I was particularly into The Police.

By the mid-80's, I was getting into hip-hop -- Doug E. Fresh, Run-DMC, the Beastie Boys, etc.

In the late 80's, I was getting deeper into (what was then) underground hip-hop: PE, BDP, NWA, De La Soul. And of course, house music.

I ran the gamut, but Prince dominated my attention for the better part of the decade.

I always find that q funny when U consider that Michael Jackson only released 2 cd's in the 80's.

Prince, MJ, P-Funk, Duran Duran, Run DMC, Thomas Dolby, Janet, Kraftwerk, R&B groups, and the last of the funk groups.
