I can't decide . . . Carly Simon's "You Belong To Me" or The Doobie Brothers' "You Belong To Me"? Which one do y'all think is better?
Both are great renditions. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

They're both good, but I'll give the edge to the chick whose large mouth comes courtesy of the silver spoon with which she was born.

i didn't even realize they were different versions. my memory melded them into one big stoner mash-up.

Easy to do. They cowrite it and - if memory serves correctly - Carly sang backup on the Doobies' version.

Doobie Brothers. I even like Anita Baker's version over Carly's.

Carly's The Doobies and Anita's are all good.
I like Carly's the best. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

Carly's version
I didn't even hear the Doobie's version until years later.

I like Carly's best because of the sax break in the middle of the song and the discofied-jazzy way the song ends
Doobie Bros. because its a little warmer i.e. Michael McDonalds'voice. Anita Baker because it's her, period.(She does a good job of the song too).
