Okay, I'm sorry if this has already been posted but I couldn't find it anywheres...

So I was listening to Wycleff and Sharika's 'Hips Don't Lie' and thought that it sounded waaaaay familiar but I was too busy with finals and being stressed to really notice.


Well, today I was listening to the 'Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights' soundtrack (I am NOT ASHAMED!!!) and realized that it was because Wycleff already did this song with Claudette Ortiz and called it 'Dance Like This'!! Same song, different girl. There are a few minor differences that I think make the song a little better but I was all shocked and appalled and whatnot.

I wonder why Wycleff didn;t release it with Claudette Ortiz and give Shakira another song?

yeah, that makes sense. i wonder how claudette feels about all this. it really isn't a bad song. I wonder if it was released and just didn;t do anything. 'hips don't lie' is friggin' everywhere!

after hearin the original w/ claudette i must say....shakiras rocks even more! the one w/ claudette was soo incomplete sounding!

Somebody should have brought some production values into this song. It's almost like Shakira herself was singing a completely different song than what's there for her to sing against on the background. Actually I think her vocals are cut the way where she first lays down an easier, harmonically correctly sung part first and then does her Shakira-thing on top of that so she can more easily hit the right notes. Then they remove the sketch track, otherwise she'd be all over the melody line - and in this case, she totally misses the interaction with the backing music.

Don´t know how about the song, but I love Shakira´s clothes in the video.
