scarecrow - melissa etheridge Sad and powerful song about Matthew Shepard... listening to it right now. I still think "Breakdown" is Melissa's strongest album. "Scarecrow", "Mama I'm Strange", "Strong Enough", "Angels Would Fall".... all great songs.
It’s easy to forget that fact sometimes these days, especially for those of us Gay folk who are surrounded by mostly Gay (or gay-friendly) friends. It’s more than just being awkward coming out at the job because someone might gossip, or raise an eyebrow… there are still people out there who would easily be capable of creating another Matthew Shepard. I love Melissa

I love Melissa I haven't heard this song, but someone needed to write a song about it. Can't say I'm a fan, though. Too earnest.

I love Melissa Melissa is one of my favorites for sure. 'Scarecrow' broke my heart when I first heard it. Her version on the 'Live & Alone' DVD is haunting. The same can be said about 'Tuesday Morning' on LUCKY. It's about the Flight 93 passenger who helped take the flight down before it hit D.C. on 9/11 and was not recognized as a gay man in a long term relationship. Countless stories about the other passengers and their grief-sticken families had been printed....not much was said about that one man (can't remember his name) and his loved ones. Melissa sings the truth yall! peace Every minute of last night is on my face today....
