Depends on what she's cooking for him, I guess...she's always been very clear that unless they're traveling, or they're having a formal dinner occasion, she cooks the majority of meals for her family, and definitely for informal get togethers with relatives and friends... all in all, however, I could imagine that it's simply a combination of being a quasi-sick, (but still) happy old family guy, setting sail in the harbour of a pretty cool life journey...you get a little older, you have a few bouts with health issues, and you take a couple of knocks to the face and tummy by way of puffiness, I think...

I also think it's meds. That doesn't look like regular weight gain. I know Iman likes to cook but she seems to be into well-balanced meals (she still looks a gem). Wonder if David demands fried or eats what he wants when he's away.

Actually, we'd need to see more recent photos of him to know what he really looks like today. You can't tell just from that pic, altough it's not Dave '74 for sure anymore. Strangely enough, he seemed to have had gained some weight (as in some, not much) over the "Hours..."/"Heathen" -years, but by the time of the Reality tour he was as thin as ever. He was also showing how fit he had gotten from all the exercise he was into at the time, and it was the first time we saw David Bowie in a tank top and tight designer jeans.

This thread made me play a Slip Away video from the CBS Early Show.... I just hope he's well enough to not regret what he admittedly has done to his body over the years. I can only imagine how he feels looking at his daughter sometimes.

You know it's a medical fact that smoking speeds up your metabolism. It has also been proved that smokers are less likely to develop alzheimers - probably because they die before they get too elderly and "confused"...
