It's possible to hate anyone! biggrin

Not that I hate Tina Turner, because I don't. I like a few of her songs and have respect for her as an artist.

awww, but not tina.

i don't have any of her albums, but i've seen pretty much everything she's been in, and i've always been in favor of her. i mean, you've got to be pretty cold to hate a woman who survived spousal abuse, taught mick jagger how to dance, re-created her career from basically nothing, became a sex-symbol as a middle-aged woman, did it all with a huge smile on her face and is a buddhist on top of everything else. what's to hate?

Trust me, there's something hate-worthy about anyone to somebody. lol I root for Tina as well. She's the ultimate underdog. But that's annoying to some, I'm sure.

screw haters. most of them just hate for the sheer novelty of going against the grain. and that becomes less about what they're hating and more about why they feel a need to hate. and really, life's too short.

True. I just wanted to point out that it's possible to hate anyone, however silly the reasons may be. lol

Rollins does - or used to do (I haven't kept up with anything he's done since the Get Some album) - his hatred with a lot of humour. His skits on U2, Morrissey and The Cure were really very funny.

But, back to Tina - I like some of her songs, and I think she's a remarkable person, but I'm still waiting for her to male a great album. Maybe she should team up with Rick Rubin - THAT would be worth it.

I've heard that from some gay co-workers.

And the nublie WB starlets can be small-boobied. I'm not that particular.

I saw him last year at a spoken word show. He was fantastic and still funny. But also still full of hate. biggrin

I love Tina..the performer, the woman, the icon..etc..

But really I think she's VERY overrated as far as her music is concerned..

Every album after 'Private Dancer' was fuck awful...

Have you heard the "Wildest Dreams" LP? It's a near classic. And "Foreign Affair" is great too.

But "Break Every Rule" (86) and "Twenty Four Seven" (00) both basically suck. But it's still Tina, still that voice...and she could sing Mary had a little lamb onstage and it would be killer.
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I've heard all her albums..

I don't think her solo albums have been succesful in capturing her
raw energy..it's totally contradicted in production..She should do something
with a groove thing..

Wildest Dreams..overproduced..Silent Wings..yuck..Goldeneye..
Unfinished Sympathy..vomit..

Generally her albums suffer from MOR drivel production

'Foreign Affair' is just wrong..don't tell me U think Simply The Best
is a good song..it's tackier than Bon Jovi & Bryan Admas put 2 gether..

Nothin but love for the Rock n Soul Diva. Her energy, her passion, her heart, her drive and willinginess to let the World in on the dark part of her personal journey. Like the Rolling Stones she doesn't keep coming back for the money, she does it because it's her life and she loves it.

I agree w/ you about the production - it has mostly been horrible since Private Dancer, and even that album sounds terribly dated in places.

BUT... despite the poor production, there have been some terrific songs. I like most of Foreign Affair and Break Every Rule, and Wildest Dreams had a few good things on it.

But mostly I like listening to Tina's voice. That's the important part smile

I'm a fan. I'm more familar with her eighties stuff, and even though it's sometimes slick and dated, I still think she is the queen of rock and roll! Hell, Grace Slick was part of Starship! Tina's worst songs beat the shit out of that!
