Who else loves "Diva" by Annie Lennox? I can't get enough of this record when i sit down and spin it. I could literally listen to it back and forth, three or four times in a row. the only song that grates on my nerves after a little while is "why"--but it seems to be her most memorable hit. anyone else dig this LP as much as i do? the production is so clean, her voice is on point, the songwriting is great...and it's mellow but passionate. i think anyone of any race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, religion, whatever could get down with this record. it's the shit. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I love all Annie Lennox's stuff. ALL. Even Medusa, which a lot of people seem to hate. It's her voice that makes it.

"Medusa" is the SHIT! I almost made a thread for that one, but I thought no one would dig it. That's actually the LP that made me a fan. "I Can't Get Next to You," "Take Me to the River," "Whiter Shade of Pale," and "Thin Line Between Love and Hate" are A-M-Azing. I love "Bare" as well but it is SUCH a downer...I want to drink bleach when I listen to that album (except "Wonderful"--one of her 5 best). I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

She always has great melody, which is most evident on "Honestly".

i don't care what anyone says about her other albums - i'm not particularly invested in defending or damning them - but DIVA is where she got it 100% right. i consider it a classic album of my lifetime.

I love Medusa too, especially her version of "Something so right" The Diva album is great, "Cold" is one of my favorites. Annie fans should get the 3 "Cold" cd-singles, they have some great live unplugged tracks... [Edited 4/25/06 10:06am]

I think my sister got it. I remember someone played me it again in high school after it was a bit old, and I was still impressed with it.

This was when I fell hardcore for her, buying all the singles, taping everything off of television, reading whatever I could about her. Even though the Eurythmics started to go in this direction during the 2nd half of their career, especially on "We Too Are One", I don't think anyone could've predicted how sophisticated, accomplished and utterly beautiful her solo work would be...especially "Diva". All of the individual tracks are wonderful, but the album also works as a mood piece, carrying you from one emotion to the next and never breaking the flow. There might be other albums she's been involved with that I've grown to love more, but she'll never make a better album than "Diva".

someone did a mash-up with "Little Bird" and Rush's "Spirit Of Radio". I don't know what's better the mash up or the orignal version.....it's that good. Annie's vocals fit perfectly over that track. I wish I could find a link for it now. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Diva is a great album, I personally still love Why even tho I've heard it about a million times!
I also loved Bare, I hope she does a new album soon! "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015
