Even though RFTW had the Minneapolis sound down, I would prefer a comp where all the artists listed were actually based in Minneapolis. But that's just me.

I feel the same way BUT some exceptions should be made, for instance some of those classic songs by the SOS-Band written and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. At least they ( Jimmy and Terry, not the SOS-Band) actually are from Mpls and their productions were good examples of the Mpls sound. RFTW had no Mpls connection whatsoever, they were only good copycats...but ok , Oh Sheila has indeed some Mpls vibe going on. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

10 Prince written (performed, arranged, produced) tracks of course ...duh
I mean: The Times records were Prince records with Morris Day adding vocals, Vanity 6, Apolonia 6...we know the story, The Family = a prince record, Jill Jones = a Prince record. Jesse Johnson did some solo records, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis did get famous producers, but apart from that, i haver never really understand the use of the words "Minneapolis sound", in my opinion it was 90 percent Prince music. Prince = the minneapolis sound.
